Flower Mound is a town where you will find many beautiful, upscale homes designed to make life as enjoyable as it could possibly be. While the homes are gorgeous, we know it’s not all about the structures; it’s about community, safety, amenities, entertainment, nature, and so much more. If you have children, there is another reason you may want to consider this wonderful city that has topped more “best of” lists than we can even remember. Now, it’s been rated among the safest cities in the U.S. to raise children!
SafeWise, a community-focused security organization, recently named Flower Mound as the 5th safest city in the country to raise children. In developing the list, researchers analyzed the most recent FBI property and violent crimes data. They also considered graduation rates, crime frequency, how communities examined were positioned to help children thrive, and other factors.
Which cities ranked higher than Flower Mound? Carmel, Indiana took the top spot followed by Newton, Massachusetts; Johns Creek, Georgia and Fishers, Indiana at numbers two, three, and four respectively. SafeWise took into account that Flower Mound offers a youth action council, community health center, and has invested in an extensive trail system.
Flower Mound was the only city in Texas making it into the top 10, however there were six that made the top 50. Frisco came in at number 14, Allen at number 16, League City at number 18, Sugar Land at number 21, McKinney at number 29, and Plano at number 39. We think number five is outstanding – we will certainly take it!
