Once again, Flower Mound has found its way to the top of the list! This time the city has taken the number one spot as the best city to live in in Texas according to Chamber of Commerce, a digital resource for small business owners.
According to reports, over 2,500 cities in Texas were evaluated in order to learn which cities of those with a population of more than 25,000 would make the top 100. Three of the top four are in the DFW metro area including Richardson at number three, and Frisco at number four. Houston claimed the number two spot.
Factors used to determine how cities ranked included quality of life, education, employment, housing and health. Flower Mound is a highly sought-after destination for those from outside the state, and enjoys a strong economy driven by the influx of light industry over the past few years and the city’s retail sector.
Pflugerville came in at the number five spot, so the Austin area has something to be proud of as well. Finished out the top 10 were Allen (no. 6), Coppell (no. 7), Woodway (no. 8), Sugar Land (no. 9), and Roanoke (no. 10).
With a population of 76,681 as of 2017, Flower Mound is a DFW suburb that’s not too big, but not too small. Given its small town charm and its close proximity to Dallas for employment and travel, it’s the perfect place to call home.
